Malaysia's radiology vs Australia's radiology

For the past few months i've been in and out of hospitals doing Ultrasounds, CT scan and an MRI Scan.

In Malaysia,

Ultrasound - Was done right after I had an Colonoscopy and a Gastroscopy after fasting and only drinking whatever liquid mixture I was only allowed that cleanse the crap out of my intestines, stomach and bowels. All I did was lie down and the Doctor did the ultrasound. The tests came out fine.

CT Scan - Wheeled in and had a head check and given 'lousy' explanation or rather wrong information from the Dr in charge that day. She said I had an inflamed left brain ventricle. Or rather a flooding brain.

MRI Scan - Got an Intravenous Line inserted on my hand and dye was injected whilst the scan was being done. Got up and went home and tada I had an arachnoid cyst on my left brain.

In Australia,

Being questioned and told by the Dr about the procedures after I told him what I went thru in Malaysia.

Ultrasound - I am suppose to drink liquid and hold it in whilst the ultrasound was done.

CT Scan - A blood test should be take to ensure that my liver is healthy enough to accept the dye which will be injected...

MRI Scan - Again, a blood test to be taken to ensure that my liver is healthy enough to accept the dye and a post blood test to check that my liver is functioning well after the 'ordeal'. I hate needles.

Conclusion

I am not a Doctor and neither am I going to try to be one. The medical bills was way way way more expensive even after conversion and after adding back the medical benefits.

If the pre check procedures were not done correctly I am sure it would've some way affected the results or even screwed up my Kidney and Liver.

I never understood patient's pain in the pocket and in the head until I had my experience getting thrown from one doctor to another. I had to even bargain for my scans to be printed in films but I still didn't get it because they were being pricks. I had a really badly written radiologist's report which even had spelling errors in it. It didn't even specifically state what cyst I had.

The Neurosurgeon that first saw me said - 'Oh! we got to get this out as soon as possible, but I won't do it cause i'll just place a shunt in it. He recommends it be done quick but its not urgent..... (I don't know what he was trying to say)

Another popular Neurosurgeon told me to not panic and do yearly scans to ensure that it isn't growing or affecting any important parts.

Maybe my experiences are not as BAD as others but seriously, it's a real pain in the arse!

I feel that the Doctor's are exploiting the patients especially when they have a medical card, medical insurance, Letter of Guarantee and a freaking credit card on the tab.

God bless all those who are unwell and I hope and pray to God that all those unwell will recover soon.

Kracie Popin' Cookin' - Candy Paste Kit - Grape

Got these Kracie's Popin Cookin' packs for really cheap at Isetan, KLCC. It was on sale for only RM5 each (AUD 1.50?) Grabbed these for the young ones to play with.

Kracie Popin' Cooking - in packets instead of boxes.
Trying to read the ingredients by colour coding them.
This is whats in the bag.
They've got a cute mould. Anyway, remember to cut out the corner to fill in the exact amount of water into the mix. Don't be too smart and bring a filled cup.

Pink goes into the round rub.

Then water is poured into the round tub. It's turning purple instead of pink which is funny!

Next, pour in the purple packet into the round tub mix !
You get a colourful 'candy floss' colour which is really pretty.

Pour out the contents of the green packet into the smarty tub and you can start smelling its sweet and sourness.
I recommend tasting some of the bits before giving it to kids or even anyone.
We overmixed it and it just got into one giant ball of gum.
This looks so wrong....
Sorry Kiddo for making you do the taste test. It was so sour his lost his usual facial expressions and gone on to this instead. Hahahahaha!

You can get this online for USD5 or so each. I just think its ridiculously expensive for colourful and tasty Japanese sugar. Buy it when on sale =P

Thai Thonglor 55 - Edgewater Blvd, Maribyrnong, VIC

If you drive past the little Edgewater complex you wouldn't be able to spot it because somehow all the shops look the same and more or less the same shade of colour. In the evenings, the sun reflection doesn't do much help other than reflect off the mirrors of the shop and make this little gem look really dark and not really attention grabbing.

This is our first time here.

I was a bit shocked when the waitress handed over to me the MENU! It's as thick as a wedding photo album.
They have quite an ambience in here with Thai decorations with a DURIAN sitting in that plastic fruit tray.
But I guess, with a lil it of history and BTS writings, the Menu shouldn't be too hard to digest.
Funky cutlery
As you can see, the Thai Iced Tea does have the same colour as the ones you get on the streets and restaurants in Thailand. The taste is almost similar and it was just nice.
Por Pia Tod or fried spring rolls aren't too bad either. But at one point I didn't realise it was chicken, I thought it was some other meat like the ones you get with Vietnamese broken rice.
Tom Yum Chicken - Not spicy, just the right sweet and sour. But a bit small.
Pad Thai - The noodles were a bit al dente, but however, I enjoyed it. Not too oily and you can taste that the beansprouts are fresh. This dish is a must try. However, on the next day we ordered take away and it just hardened into one chunk of noodles and just didn't do justice to what I tasted when dining in.
Moo Yang - marinated pork. This was our favourite dish that we ordered. Tender, tasty and I wonder what's in the Chef's special BBQ sauce?
Kao Pad - Thai fried rice. Nothing to shout about, other than the prawns were generous sized, the veges were fresh maybe except the green peas.
Point to note: DO NOT TAKE AWAY! Few days later my husband ordered some take away Pad Thai for me and I was very excited. But when I opened the take away box, I could see the whole pack of noodles were stiff and dry. It had a very strong smell in it. It seems like it was pre packed or something i'm not too sure. It really killed it for me and I hardly had a quarter of it and binned it. Wasted!

(opposite ALDI or next to Sambal Kampung)

Weird eavesdropping

Was in Singapore Marina Bay Sands toilet doing my thang when I heard this conversation.

I would think it was between 2 teenagers/uni students on their break day. This was at 3:30pm!

Girl 1: Hey, I don't feel hungry. I don't think I want to have lunch laaaa.

Girl 2: Hmmm, really? Nevermind la! We eat only when you are hungry.

Girl 1: Okay la.

Girl 2: Let me know when you are hungry then we go eat.

Girl 1: *silence*

Girl 2: Hey, I think I know why you are not hungry.

Girl 1: Why ah?

Girl 2: Because you had breakfast this morning that's why you are not hungry lor!

*face palm*

I don't know if you would think this conversation was funny or not. Cause I don't think it was funny but more like WTF!?!?!?!? I wonder what she had for breakfast? Does it mean if you had breakfast then you arent suppose to feel hungry during lunch? Why would they put lunch as a meal time then? Huh! *scratches head*

Nescafe Dolce Gusto - 3 finds from Big W, Australia

The Caffe Americano is not too bad, not too bitter and just right. Just make sure u abide by the 220ml of water if not it might taste a bit off.

Espresso Ristretto, I think you can find this in Malaysia. One shot for the day!

Nescafe Dolce Gusto - Cafe Au Lait, something that is not found in Malaysia yet as l have not seen it around. This comes in 16 shots of coffe + milk and not 8 coffee and 8 milk pods. Must be quite a bargain and made in Spain.
